Sammy

Our sweet boy Sammy left us so suddenly this week and we’re still trying to believe it. At just 11 years old, it feels far, far too soon to have to say goodbye. The house feels different already, quieter somehow and we’re struggling to take it all in. Sammy wasn’t just our dog, he was family. Life out here in the countryside was brighter with him in it. He loved nothing more than running through the fields, nose in the air, tail wagging like mad or just watching the world drift by. There was something peaceful about him, something steady, like he belonged to this land as much as we do. He loved the simple things, his ball, a belly rub, a quiet sit by the fire at night. He never asked for much, never made a fuss. Just being near us was enough for him and we loved him more than we can ever really put into words. Losing him so suddenly has left an ache we can’t explain. The garden feels empty, his favourite spot by the window is too still and there’s this silence that keeps catching us off guard. But at the same time, we’re so grateful for the years we had, for every walk, every silly game and every moment he was ours. Rest easy now, Sammy.. "You were our Sammy. You always will be."
