Remi
Remi was our loyal setter and hunting partner—clever, devoted, and forever part of our father-son memories.
Our beautiful Remi that lived a long and happy life with us. A beautiful black and white Llewellin setter and a wonderful working gundog. My dad and I spent many happy days out walking the fields and mountains in glorious sunshine and frosty evenings. So many marvellous memories of father and son times. However time stands still for no man or dog. As Remi advanced in years she also became deaf but was still mad for hunting and instead of hearing my whistled signals, she adapted very well to my hand signals. Coincidentally my dad became very hard of hearing around the same time and it was impossible to shout out any directions to him while we were out in the fields and he too started to pick up on my hand signals. It all worked very well until I wanted my dad to go in one direction and Remi to stay where she was, or go in a different direction. Pandemonium would ensue with man and dog going in wrong directions with my hand signals getting more and more frantic. Now isn’t that what memories are made of? Rest easy friend.
