Flash

My best pal for the past 11 years has gone for a long sleep. My constant companion through thick and thin, good times and bads is no longer there to listen, without judgement, to my stories of work, relationships and ridiculous notions. He was unwell only for the last week and thankfully he slipped away peacefully on his own terms. Getting up this morning with no tap tapping of his tail on the kitchen floor was heartbreaking. No more walks. He hated water so there was never any swimming, but boy, when he hit the open field could he move and did he live up to his name Flash. I'm really sad but in a way glad to have given him a long and happy life and he repaid me in spades. So for one last time.....'Off you go Flash' Rest easy good friend.
